Operations Supervisor II is responsible for supervising the collections activities in one or more lines of business (commercial, residential, roll-off and container delivery pick up). The Operations Supervisor II manages drivers and helpers and works with the Operations Hauling Manager to implement tactical initiatives to drive functional excellence and budget achievement. The Supervisor ensures adherence to all accident prevention programs and leads operations to ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, operating, regulatory, accounting, ethics and other standards. The Administrative Assistant will play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our Hauling Depot. This role will primarily support operations management, overnight dispatchers alongside them, and the drivers and collection helpers on routes over the phone. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, computer skills, and the ability to multi-task.

  • Maintain comprehensive operational records including route sheets, work orders, and service documentation.

May be assigned single or multiple depots, building facilities, expense management, operations staff to maintain and ensure safe performance and productivity metrics and processes.

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that solid waste materials are processed efficiently, on schedule, and according to approved procedures. This position involves the inspection of materials received at the Transfer Station, and includes determining and preventing the disposal of unauthorized, disallowed and/or incompatible materials at the Transfer Station. The Operations Supervisor oversees the operations of the tipping areas.

 

The work may also include the operation of various plant equipment, as well as participating in the work of the crew. The Operations Supervisor works under the direct supervision of the Director of Post Collections. Direct supervision is exercised over the work of Equipment Operators, Laborers, and Scale Operators. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for directing, planning and assigning the work of employees involved in these positions.

The Dispatcher coordinates and manages daily waste collection operations, ensuring efficient route execution and timely customer service.  This role serves as the central communication hub between drivers, supervisors, and customers, optimizing vehicle deployment and responding to dynamic operational challenges. The Dispatcher is also responsible for promoting and monitoring employee safety and take proactive steps to identify, evaluate and remove safety hazards.

 

The successful candidate must have experience managing both themselves and others. The Dispatcher is a self-directed role and will be responsible for establishing and documenting procedures for live dispatching.
